Standing at a musical crossroad of the world, the acoustic string group Café Americain draws from the bohemian sounds of European café music, romantic gypsy jazz, elegant Brazilian Choros and Bossa Novas, and, of course, the always hip Great American Song Book.
Café Americain is the brain-child of internationally respected guitarist Ned Boynton. He is joined by renowned musicians Jason Vanderford - guitar, Simon Planting - bass, and Michael Zisman – mandolin.
This group of engaging, charismatic performers plays traditional music perfectly suited to modern life. It is a captivating sound in which warm, rich instrumental voices bring forth music full of agile grace, subtle nuance, impeccable timing and irrepressible spirit.
In short, this is music for “la dolce vita”!

The musicians of Café Americain are quite experienced and versatile and can adapt to many different performance situations. We can draw from our vast repertoire to tailor performances for any audience and venue! While our music is “acoustic” in nature, the group can be amplified for larger audiences.
